While Facebook is a fairly new advent, it does not need to be relegated to today's youth, but instead should be a site and avenue for information that everyone can use. Facebook is an awesome tool for posting pictures and video that others can view and comment on, a great way to communicate with family and friends both locally and far away, and a good way to stay in touch with what others are doing.
Learning how to use Facebook, as with learning most new things, can be fairly daunting, but using the right tools, and knowing where to ask for help is essential to making the learning experience more effective and the overall understanding of what you are trying to learn much better. Here is a short list of resources that you can use or consult in your learning of how to use Facebook, and while this is not an exhaustive list, it should provide you with some key pointers and tips to help you progress:
- Consult the Facebook Help Center.
- If you have a friend that is knowledgeable about Social Media, ask them to give you a quick run down of how to navigate and use Facebook, or if you have Grandchildren or kids who know how to use Facebook, ask them (they most likely are experts).
- Buy a book on how to use Facebook. One great book that is easy to use and is easy to find is 'Facebook For Dummies' from the 'For Dummies' series and can be purchased at many bookstores. - Watch a YouTube video on what you are interested in learning. You could type in to the search bar on the top of the site "How do I add a friend", and most likely there would be a video for you to watch on how to add a friend. Here are a few good YouTube videos that explain Facebook basics.
- Simply type a search into Google to find sites that help teach you to use Facebook is also a good resource. A few good ones that I found were:
